Essential Question one was discussed in class and not on the PowerPoint. -The improvements that Americans wanted desperately was a way to unite the nation again under one flag. They also wanted a fast and easy way to travel to the Western parts of the United States. So they merged them together. They built the Transcontinental Railroad.
